Female dragonflies fake

Their own deaths to avoid

Males harassing them for

Sex

Sometimes I want to be a

Dragonfly, faking my own

Death, but I know maybe it’s

Not

That easy, I just don’t want

To be called beautiful, I want

To feel beautiful, without need

For

Validation of how you think

I look, is it too much to ask

Not to be judged for my looks

Before

My brains, before you know

What’s inside, they say what’s

Inside is what really counts

But

We’ve walked 200,000 years

On the earth, and all we can

Seemingly take a woman for is

Her looks

A girl must be desired, not be

Too skinny, too fat, must smile

Not have any hair on their entire

Body

Sometimes in this apparently

Modern world, I want to be

A dragonfly, faking my own

Death
